What are gel nails, and how do they differ from regular polish?
Regular polish air-dries and starts chipping within a few days. Gel is painted on in thin layers and cured under a UV or LED lamp between coats, which sets it hard and gives you up to two to three weeks of high-gloss, chip-resistant wear. It is the right choice for a holiday, an event, or anyone who is simply hard on their hands. We offer full gel sets, gel fills to extend the life of a set, and gel polish applied over a classic manicure.
What to expect at your appointment
Your technician shapes your nails, tidies the cuticles, and preps the nail so the gel adheres and lasts. We then apply your colour or design in thin, cured layers and finish with a glossy top coat and a little cuticle oil. Tell us the length, shape, and colour or design you are after, and ask about nail art if you want something extra. When it is time for a change, come in for a gentle soak-off rather than picking it off, which is what protects your natural nail.

Can I get gel over my natural nails?
Yes. Gel polish goes over your own nails after a manicure, and we also do gel sets if you want added length or strength.
How is gel removed safely?
We gently soak it off rather than peeling or scraping, which is what protects your natural nail. Please never pick it off at home.
Will gel work on short or weak nails?
Often yes. Gel can add a protective layer that helps weak nails grow, and it suits short nails well. We will tell you honestly what your nails can take.
How soon do I come back for a fill?
Most clients return every two to three weeks for a fill to tidy the regrowth, which is quicker and lower cost than a fresh set.
